Unlock PDF

Reader uses this password to open the PDF. It is not included in saved library data or backups. The PDF stays encrypted; notes and selected quotes you save in Reader are stored without encryption.

Storage and recovery

A browser estimate is not a reservation. Persistence can reduce automatic eviction, but cannot protect against clearing browser data, device loss or storage failure. Keep a complete backup outside this browser.

Restoring a backup verifies its complete PDFs and merges its history. A damaged saved copy is replaced only after a new copy is fully verified.
